SAINT-PETERSBURG "GUEST CARD" TOURIST PROGRAM

"Guest Card" Program is a single smart card for tourists. Its cost includes entry into top museums, the best city tours, as well as discount offers in the city’s hotels, restaurants and shops. A City Card is integrated with a transport e-purse, which means that it can be used for fare payment on all types of public transportation.

Implementation of this project is supported by Saint Petersburg Committee for Investment and Strategic Projects and Committee for Culture, as part of the program “Saint Petersburg Development as a Tourist Centre for 2011-2016”, decreed by the city’s government on 07.06.11 (№ 732).

For Russia, such programs represent a new approach to tourism and travel-related services. However, similar programs already operate successfully in New-York, London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and other top tourist destinations, facilitating a more comfortable stay in these cities.

The City Card aims to help a guest of Saint Petersburg to admire the beauty of the city’s unique historical and cultural heritage as well as to enjoy its hospitality. Starting from 2012, Saint Petersburg City Card has been included in the European Cities Marketing Association (ECM). In some countries this program is called “City Pass”. It complies with the international standards and takes tourist services onto a new level, by saving time and increasing comfort.
